Gestalt Principles are really important for graphic designers to understand because they explain how people group things together. When you are designing different elements you want to think about how it will be viewed.

SimilaritySimilarity occurs when objects look similar to one another. People often perceive them as a group or pattern.

ContinuityContinuation occurs when the eye is compelled to move through on object and continue to another object.

ClosureIf we are given enough essential information our brains will complete and image even if there are gaps.

Proximity Assignment.This tutorial will show you how to create a word cloud which is dependent on proximity to create on image from an otherwise fairly random word grouping.

Continuity Assignment.Create an image that has at least 4 points of interest and has a distinct visual path. Create an "answer key" and then show your image to two people who aren't sitting right next to you. Have them draw out the path they follow check against your answer key. Make any adjustments and then post to your weebly.

Similarity Assignment.
Create a system of similarity using a repeated image. Then create an anomaly by changing some aspect of the colour. A youtube video on how to change the colour of an image can be found on the tutorial page.
Closure Assignment.

We are going to be making our own stencils which is actually way easier than I would have expected. Find photo or image make it what you want in gimp. There needs to be at least two elements i.e. photo plus words or two images worked together. Credit will be given on uniqueness.
